Dr. Christopher Topel

Dr. Topel earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic and his B.S. degree in human biology from Logan University in St. Louis, MO. For many years, Dr. Topel ran a successful chiropractic office in Monroe, Ga.

While in private practice, Dr. Topel specialized in sports chiropractic, serving as the team doctor for five local high schools. He also worked regionally, nationally and internationally with athletes to help them perform at their optimum level as well as helping with chronic ailments that many athletes tend to have. Some of the events Dr. Topel worked included:

  • Olympics, Atlanta
  • U.S. Track and Field team (specifically race-walking)
  • Nike Golf Tour
  • All-Africa Games
  • Ironman World Triathlon Championships, Kona Hawaii

Over his career Dr. Topel has treated more than 7,000 patients of all ages – from infants to a gentleman entering his second century at 101 years young. Dr. Topel believes that improving the quality of patients’ lives, through chiropractic and without the use of long-term medications, can and will lead to a more balanced and longer productive life.

Dr. Topel is married to Sybil Topel, who serves as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce. Members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, together they enjoy hiking and boating. Dr. Topel also jogs and plays golf.

Over the past several years, Dr. Topel devoted a significant portion of his career to helping the communities where he’s lived through non-profit organizations, including:

  • Northside Neighborhood House in Chattanooga, where he served Chief Operations Officer, Chattanooga
  • Kiwanis, downtown Chattanooga
  • Leadership Chattanooga, Class of 2016-17
  • Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition, member of Board of Directors , Personnel chair- 2016-current
  • Southside Council-Chamber of Commerce, President-Elect 2017
  • Participant of the Attorney Generals Smart on Crime Initiative through the Dept. of Justice
  • Completed Non Profit Leadership series through Chattanooga Center for Non Profits
  • Committee Member Small Business Awards selection process with the Chattanooga Chamber
  • Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill, Monroe, Ga.
  • Men of Valor, a prison ministry in Nashville
